What kind of license do I need to rent an electric scooter?

Minimum AM or B category driving license required. Foreigners can also rent with an EU or international driving license.

How does renting in Budapest work with Rideezo?

To rent, we first arrange an appointment, then you must appear in person at the Rideezo location, where the contract will be signed and the scooter will be picked up.

Where can I pick up the scooter?

The scooters can be picked up in person at the Rideezo Budapest location, at a pre-arranged time. We do not offer home delivery, as the contract is concluded in person.

Can it also be used for courier work?

Yes, our scooters are also excellent for courier work. The models are reliable, have a long range, and extra equipment (e.g. spare battery) can be requested.

Is there a possibility for long-term rental?

Yes, scooters can be rented for 1–12 months. For longer rental periods, based on individual agreements, in some cases there may be an opportunity to purchase the scooter.

What does the monthly rent include?

The monthly rental fee includes the use of the scooter and the battery. Every Rideezo scooter comes with a phone holder as standard, so all you need to rent is a helmet, which you can either bring with you or purchase from us.

What documents are required for renting?

To rent a motorbike, you need a valid ID card or passport, as well as a Hungarian phone number or address. The amount of the deposit depends on the type of motorbike:
- For Lofty 14 and Lofty 16 models 50,000 HUF
- For Fadu F4 model 70,000 HUF

Do I need a driver's license to rent a scooter?

Yes, a valid driving license, at least category AM or B, is required to rent. We accept driving licenses issued in all EU member states, as well as Hungarian driving licenses.
If you do not have an EU driving license, please contact us to discuss options.

How does servicing work?

The first mandatory service is due after 1000 km, and every 3000 km thereafter. We will notify you when service is required. The service is performed by Rideezo and the cost is included in the rental fee.

What happens if the scooter breaks down?

If you experience any malfunction, please contact us immediately. The repair or replacement will be carried out by the Rideezo team as soon as possible. If the malfunction is not due to negligence resulting from use, the repair costs will be covered by us.

Is it possible to change the scooter during the rental period?

Yes, if you would like to switch to another type during the rental period (e.g. due to a longer range or a different model), this can be arranged after separate negotiation. Any potential fee difference will be settled based on an individual agreement.

How long does the contract signing and acceptance process take?

The process of signing the contract and picking up the scooter usually takes 20-30 minutes, provided you have all the necessary documents. After scheduling an appointment, our colleague will prepare the scooter and the paperwork, making the process quick and smooth.

What happens if the scooter is stolen?

The renter is responsible for the safety and storage of the scooter.
In case of theft, the police and the Rideezo team must be notified immediately.
If you have properly locked the scooter and reported the theft to the police, your liability may be reduced.
If you do not lock it properly or report the theft, we may retain your deposit and additional costs may apply.

How is an appointment booked?

Appointments can only be booked online via the Rideezo website or by email to the contact address provided. After booking, our colleague will contact you to arrange pick-up details.

Is there a possibility of extension after the rental period expires?

Yes, it is possible to extend the rental period after the rental period has expired. Please let us know your intention to extend at least 3 days in advance so that we can make arrangements in time.

What are the payment options?

Payment can be made by credit card, cash or bank transfer before signing the rental contract. The exact payment methods are detailed on the Rideezo website or in the contract.

Are there any restrictions on using the scooter? (e.g. speed, location)

Yes, scooters can only be used by the renter. Transferring to other persons is prohibited, they can only be used in Budapest. Off-road use and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs are prohibited. The renter assumes full responsibility for the scooter during use.

What happens if there is a delay in collection or return?

In case of late delivery, please notify us in advance.
In case of delay in return, an additional fee will be charged, the amount of which is included in the contract.
If the return is delayed without prior notice, Rideezo reserves the right to take further action.

Is there insurance for the scooter?

Yes, all scooters have basic insurance that covers third-party damage.
However, the renter is responsible for their own personal damage and injuries sustained in the scooter.
We recommend that the tenant take out separate insurance if necessary.

Can I rent more than one scooter at the same time?

Yes, it is possible to rent multiple scooters at the same time, for example for companies or groups.
Please contact us in advance for exact details and prices.

How can I terminate or cancel the contract before the rental period expires?

If the renter wishes to return the scooter before the end of the contract, the full rental fee must be paid and the amount is non-refundable.
Early termination of the contract is not possible without a refund of the fee.
The deposit is refundable if there is no damage or problem during the rental.

Is there an age limit for renting?

The minimum age to rent a scooter is 18 years.
A valid driver's license or ID is required.
